North Ayrshire Council become an Exemplary Employer

North Ayrshire Council received their Carer Positive certificate this week recognising them as an Exemplary level employer. 

Councillor Nairn McDonald, North Ayrshire Council’s Carers' Champion said: “The Carer Positive ‘Exemplary’ accreditation is a fantastic recognition of the Council’s continued progress to create a supportive working environment not only for carers, but for all of our employees in the workplace.

“We understand the challenges carers face and recognise the importance of helping carers to feel valued and supported. By ensuring we have ‘carer friendly’ polices and working practices we can support carers who are  juggling their work and caring responsibilities.

“With approximately 7,500 employees, it’s important to recognise that we may  all have caring responsibilities at some point and therefore it’s really important for the Council to have policies and procedures in place that provide the support that is required.”
